Start — stack your tasks - Strip all beds and start the laundry immediately - Load and start the dishwasher - Open windows to air the property out - Walk through and photograph any damage, items left behind, or maintenance issues before you touch anything

Kitchen - Wipe all countertops and the splashback - Clean the stovetop including burner grates - Clean the rangehood filter (exterior and accessible interior) - Clean the microwave inside and out - Wipe the exterior of the fridge, toaster and kettle - Wipe cabinet door fronts and handles - Check inside the fridge and remove any food left behind - Empty the bin and replace the liner - Restock dish soap, sponge, coffee and hand soap - Sweep and mop the floor

Bathrooms - Clean the mirror streak-free - Clean the sink and tap handles - Scrub the toilet inside, outside, base and behind the base - Scrub the shower or bath, screen and taps - Check the drain for hair and remove it - Check grout corners for pink mildew and scrub - Mop the floor including the corners - Replace towels with a fresh, folded set - Restock toilet paper, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner and body wash - Empty the bin and replace the liner

Bedrooms - Replace all bedding; check the mattress for stains before remaking - Dust nightstands, lamps and the headboard - Wipe light switches and doorknobs - Check inside the wardrobe and drawers - Check under the bed - Vacuum the floor including under the bed - Lint-roll any upholstered surfaces - Empty the bin and replace the liner

Living areas & high-touch surfaces - Dust all surfaces, shelves and decor - Wipe remotes, light switches and all door handles - Fluff cushions and fold throws - Vacuum the sofa and chairs, including under the cushions - Vacuum and mop floors - Wipe the thermostat or AC controls and cabinet handles

Final walkthrough - Stand in each doorway and see the room the way the guest will - Smell check in every room - Check every light bulb - Confirm the Wi-Fi password is visible - Confirm all supplies are stocked - Take timestamped photos of every room and the entry
